ICF International applies responsible business practices both internally, as part of our corporate policies and operational decisions, and externally, through services to clients. Through our Environmental, Health, and Safety program, we demonstrate our commitment to conducting our business in a manner that safeguards people and sustains the environment.
ICF International contributes to local communities
as a company and supports individual staff members'
participation in community charities and activities.
We have established the ICF International Environmental
and Community Outreach (ECO Team) to coordinate
our community outreach activities and support a number
of charitable events year-round that fight disease,
promote good health, provide food and shelter, serve
the underprivileged, and protect the environment. |

Since 1995, ICF International's annual
charity auctions have provided much needed financial
support to charities in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan
area, including the the Humane Society Shelter and Central
Kitchen. The all-day Silent Auction and Live Auction
consist of donations by employees, ranging from tins
of homemade fudge and pottery lessons to weekends at
the beach and dinner at our CEO's house. Thanks to donations
from staff members and area businesses, we have raised
more than $68,000. All proceeds are donated to the local
charities selected each year by employees. We also participate
in local drives for school supplies, holiday toys, and
clothing.
ICF International has received local and nationwide recognition
for our environmental initiatives. Many of our offices
comply with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY
STAR® program to improve
energy efficiency in buildings. We recycle paper, glass, aluminum
and donate computers and cell phones.
ICF International is a member of the Commuter
Choice Leadership Initiative, a voluntary business-government
partnership that promotes employer-provided commuter benefits.
The national program was developed to improve traffic flow
and air quality by encouraging U.S. companies to offer employees
alternatives to driving to work alone. By participating in
the initiative, ICF International has earned the designation
"Best
Workplace for Commuters," a mark of excellence
for environmentally and employee friendly companies. ICF International
was the first employer in Washington, D.C., to join the initiative.
We also participate in Environmentors,
a Washington, D.C., program that pairs environmental professionals
with public high school students. Mentors help the students
develop and carry out an environmental project of their choosing
throughout the year. The students then display their projects
at local science fairs, compete for college scholarships,
and give lessons in area elementary schools. The program is
designed to encourage self-confidence and responsibility while
increasing young peoples awareness of environmental
issues and career options.
