Individuals with an advanced degree join ICF International as
Associates. Typically a new Associate joins an ICF International
business group and quickly assumes an active role on project
teams, working on a variety of projects concurrently.
Working
with peers and seasoned professionals, the Associate assists
in developing and defining the scope of a project, structuring
the approach of the analysis, collecting and analyzing the
data, and writing and presenting the results. After gaining
some experience, an Associate will also schedule work, identify
and resolve conflicting priorities, and supervise junior staff.
Over time, Associates usually develop an area of special competence,
with increasing responsibilities for project management and
client contact.
Qualifications for the Associate position vary by practice and include an advanced
degree in public policy, environmental management, economics,
business administration, environmental science or engineering,
toxicology, public health, or the equivalent years of relevant
consulting experience. Additional requirements include exemplary
analytical and communication skills, a general aptitude for
policy analysis, and the ability to think creatively and independently
when faced with a challenging analytical problem.
