ICF International has long worked to improve the conditions
of America’s most at-risk populations—reaching
out directly to the populations in need, as well as providing
strategic consulting support to human
services, housing
and communities, and economic
development agencies throughout the United States.
The hallmark of ICF International's
approach to social programs and human services is in recognizing
that public, private, and nonprofit sectors must each
do their part to lay the groundwork for positive social programs
that promote healthy societies, governments, and economies.
We offer a longstanding commitment to community development
and social change as a pillar of our core values.
As
noted by the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community
Initiatives, one-fifth of America’s children
go hungry or are at risk of being hungry. Close to two
million children have a parent in prison. Last year 22
million Americans had substance dependence or abuse problems.
Close to 900,000 Americans live with HIV/AIDS.
Such social problems are difficult to solve and require
extraordinary commitment and support at the federal, state,
and local levels.
Founded in 1969, ICF International began by assisting minority
startup businesses to seek funds from venture capitalists.
In the early 1970s, ICF International began its long history
of supporting federal programs and initiatives. Today, ICF International works across more than 20 federal departments
and agencies including the U.S. Departments of Housing and
Urban Development (HUD), Health and Human Services (HHS),
Justice (DOJ), and Labor (DOL), and with hundreds of state
and local governments and nonprofit organizations.
We provide
technical assistance, training, and
conference support that
helps thousands of professionals who work every day to reduce
homelessness and provide safe, affordable housing and economic
development opportunities for the nation’s poorest
citizens.
We also offer communications
outreach, evaluation,
technical assistance, and event organization and logistics for projects such as The
Leadership Campaign on AIDS (TLCA): Faith Based Initiatives at HHS, where we are working with
diverse faith-based and community groups nationwide.
Our
deep expertise with communications, training,
technical assistance, clearinghouses, public
health, emergency
management, market-oriented
and demand-driven economic strategies, and enterprise
information technology give government and nonprofit
personnel the skills and understanding to run large
and complex social programs.
