ICF works with companies to develop strategies to recruit, engage, and retain the employees they need now and will need in the future. The talent pool today is very different from what it was 10 years ago. At ICF, we understand what motivates today’s workforce and how to develop employee skillsets to meet strategic business goals.
Some of ICF’s specific capabilities are outlined below in our approach to talent management:
To recruit and retain the workforce a company needs, ICF will work to:
- Assess current and future workforce needs—analyze current workloads and skill gaps to be sure that the company will be able to realize its strategic goals.
- Put in place strategies and tools to meet those needs—recruitment strategies that cater to younger workers, mentoring and knowledge transfer vehicles that capture retiring workers’ knowledge, work/life strategies to retain best performers, and greening and other corporate social responsibility strategies.
- Establish relevant organizational development strategies—climate surveys and leadership development processes.
- Manage change—succession planning strategies, diversity training, and strategic communications.
- Define how job requirements change as jobs and technology evolve—job analysis/competency modeling.
- Utilize decision-making tools so that the company can hire and promote the right people—assessments, tests, and structured interviews.
- Benchmark the company's workforce practices against competitors and against best practices
- Determine the Return on Investment (ROI) for initiatives.
- Strategize, implement, and communicate a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program that includes giving, volunteerism, and environmental sustainability. CSR is an important recruitment and retention strategy.
