FAIRFAX, VA, April 8, 2002 - ICF Consulting announced
today that it has been selected as the successful bidder for
two major consulting divisions of Arthur D. Little, Inc (ADL).
These divisions, known as Public Sector Program Management and
Global Environment & Risk (Americas), will add approximately
250 new employees and approximately $45 million in revenue to
ICF Consulting's current 800 employees and $120 million in revenue.
The firm expects to close and take final ownership of the divisions'
assets by month's end. ICF Consulting's management of the two
divisions, however, is effective immediately.
Arthur D. Little is the world's first and oldest management
consulting firm. For more than a century, it has brought leading-edge
expertise in strategy, implementation, and technology to help
governments and corporations around the world.
"Arthur D. Little and ICF Consulting have compatible
goals as well as traditions of quality and customer commitment,"
says Sudhakar Kesavan, ICF Consulting Chairman and CEO. "Both
Arthur D. Little divisions reflect our firm's commitment to
growth and service enhancements in our key markets. Moreover,
these services will add an important technology dimension
to what we offer our clients across all of our businesses."
The first division, Public Sector Program Management, provides
management and technology expertise in program management,
technology management, learning integration, e-government,
and customer relationship management. Key clients include
the FAA, IRS, Postal Service, and South Carolina Research
Authority. Kesavan explained, "This division presents
ICF Consulting an important opportunity to diversify its federal
client base, add significant expertise in on-site program
management and technology management services, and provide
significant leverage for our existing competencies in e-learning,
strategic communications, and information technology."
The second division, Global Environment & Risk (Americas),
offers diversified environmental services in four functional
areas: science and engineering; compliance and risk management;
environmental technology; and environmental chemistry. This
division has a 60 percent/40 percent mix of public-sector/private-sector
engagements. Kesavan explained, "This division's technology
and engineering credentials extend ICF Consulting's expertise
in economics, finance, and analysis. In addition, as a result
of the acquisition, we will establish a large presence in
the Boston area."
