Multi-Year
Effort Taps ICF's
Analytical, Technical, and Facilitation
Expertise
FAIRFAX, VA, August 28, 2006 – ICF International announced today that it has been awarded the Analytical, Technical, and Facilitation Support for Environmental Stewardship contract, a five-year, US$10 million contract with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Policy, Economics, and Innovation (OPEI). Under this contract, ICF will support EPA programs, including the Sector Strategies Program, which seek to improve environmental performance and stewardship on a broad scale, across industrial sectors, as well as in other types of economic and service sectors. ICF will also support EPA’s implementation efforts on the environmental management systems (EMS) and other stewardship initiatives to overcome barriers in environmental improvement.
"ICF has successfully supported EPA for three decades in the development and implementation of EPA’s regulatory and voluntary performance-based efforts," says Andrea Baier, ICF senior vice president and expert in environmental consulting services. "We are uniquely familiar with the Sector Strategies Program, having supported EPA through all aspects of the program’s development, from inception to its formal launch."
ICF’s role in the program will include analyzing
the factors that affect environmental performance
in each EPA sector and crafting innovative regulatory
and policy change. The team also will select
appropriate performance indicators in each sector
to evaluate performance and find creative ways
to measure environmental progress and burden reductions.
