LONDON, UK, February 18, 2002 - ICF Consulting's London
office has been awarded a framework contract by the European
Commission's Directorate-General for Energy and Transportation
(DG TREN) to provide economic analysis across all seven of DG
TREN's divisions. The three-year, Euros 2.5 million (US$2.2
million) contract will include economic analysis of key issues
affecting the European markets for energy and transportation.
The markets for energy and transportation within the European
Union (EU) are experiencing various forces including liberalisation,
deregulation, and integration. Because of these rapid changes,
there is an increasing need for sophisticated economic analysis
to help provide meaningful insights that can guide energy and
transportation sector policy across the 15 countries of the
EU.
ICF Consulting has a distinguished track record of
providing sophisticated economic analysis of complex policy
issues for both public and private sector clients in North
America. This contract is an important step in making these
services available to European clientele," said Simon
Allen, ICF Consulting's European Director.
"Our London office is developing a reputation for providing
an increasingly diverse base of European clientele with a
similar calibre of independent, objective, and credible analysis
that the European Commission requires to meet its needs,"
said Abyd Karmali, Vice President in the London office.
