To Provide OTAQ with Regulatory and Technical Support
FAIRFAX, VA, October 16, 2006 – ICF
International (Nasdaq: ICFI) announced today that
it was successful in winning a recompetition award
valued at US$10 million over five years with the
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office
of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ). Under
this contract, ICF will continue to provide technical
and engineering support to EPA on the regulation
of motor vehicles, engines, fuel, and fuel additives,
and will help EPA to ensure continued progress
in mitigating the air
pollution consequences associated with the operation
of motor vehicles.

EPA's transportation and air quality program protects
public health and the environment by regulating air pollution from motor vehicles and engines, and the fuels used to operate them, and by encouraging travel choices that minimize emissions. These "mobile sources" include cars and light trucks, large trucks and buses, off-road recreational vehicles (such as dirt bikes and snowmobiles), farm and construction equipment, lawn and garden equipment, marine engines, aircraft, and locomotives. OTAQ has responsibilities under the Clean Air Act (CAA), which include setting emission standards and assessing the cost-effectiveness of current or potential motor vehicle emission control systems.
