ICF Consulting Awarded Recycle Plus! Contract by City of San José

San Francisco, CA, July 23, 2001 - ICF Consulting has been awarded a contract by the City of San José (CA) to assist the City's Environmental Services Department in the preparation and implementation of a multimedia campaign for transition to the City's new Recycle Plus! Program.

"Under the $800,000, 18-month contract, ICF Consulting will develop and assist our staff in the implementation of a comprehensive multimedia marketing plan to educate residents about the new Recycle Plus! Services," announced Ellen Ryan, Deputy Director. "ICF Consulting will also survey residents about their preferred options for the delivery of these services, and ensure a smooth transition to the new Recycle Plus! Program."

Since 1993, San José's residential solid waste services have been provided under the auspices of the City's Recycle Plus! Program. During the next few months, the City will be preparing to add enhanced recycling services to the program. ICF Consulting will develop a unified creative theme for delivering the messages of the campaign, provide collateral development services, and develop advertising and public relations campaigns for educational outreach to the City's residents. The work will be conducted from the firm's Sherman Oaks and San Francisco offices.

"We're delighted to have been chosen to work with the City of San José on this campaign," said Joyce McClure, vice president of ICF Consulting's West Coast strategic communications practice. "In addition to a team of experienced marketing professionals, we offer some of the nation's leading experts on recycling and the environment on our team." ICF Consulting's other clients include U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Pacific Gas & Electric, U.S. Department of Energy, the California Energy Commission, Caltrans, U.S. Housing and Urban Development, and many others.
