STAR Expands Energy-Efficient
Technologies and Services to More Markets
FAIRFAX, VA, November 26, 2001 - ICF Consulting has
been awarded two major U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) ENERGY STAR®
contracts to foster superior energy performance investment
decisions in the commercial, institutional, and industrial
markets, the residential sector, and in energy consuming products.
Through these five-year contracts, worth more than $50 million,
ICF Consulting professionals will support EPA's Climate Protection
Partnerships Division in the Washington, D.C. area, San Francisco,
Los Angeles, Houston, and Providence.
ENERGY STAR
was developed by EPA to promote widespread use of
energy-efficient technologies and services, and works to prevent
air pollution by reducing the emissions caused by the inefficient
use of energy. The long-term goal of ENERGY
STAR is to help effect market
transformations that will sustain the purchase and use of
increasing levels of energy-efficient products indefinitely.

support, the creation of strategic alliances in the marketplace,
Web strategies and content development, direct interaction
with organizations in the ENERGY

activities that support the goals of ENERGY

Energy Star Labeling & Residential
Sector Initiatives
ICF Consulting will engage specific industries through voluntary
private-public partnerships and market-based initiatives to
increase the market penetration of ENERGY
STAR labeled products, homes,
and buildings. The team will offer product development, research
and analysis, sales and marketing, media marketing, software
and electronic information development, program evaluation,
administration, and management support for these components
of ENERGY STAR
.
