ICF Consulting Awarded $3 Million U.S. Department
of Justice Contract
|
FAIRFAX, VA, July 10, 2001 - ICF Consulting has been
awarded a U.S. Department of Justice contract to provide support
to the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) in the areas of chemical,
biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosives weapons of
mass destruction (WMD). Under this contract, ICF Consulting
may design and develop training programs, functional exercises,
and management tools. The contract has a potential value of
up to $3 million over the next year and is renewable.
International and domestic terrorism during the past decade
has heightened awareness and concern throughout America, and
all levels of government are working to increase preparedness.
State and local governments in particular, being on the front
lines, need to understand the threat to their communities and
develop plans, procure equipment, and train to ensure readiness.
OJP plays a critical role in developing and implementing national
programs to enhance the state and local agencies' responses
to WMD terrorist incidents.
ICF Consulting has assembled a team of technical, policy, and
program staff to support all aspects of OJP's program. "We offer
technical staff who understand the effects of terrorist incidents,
and a range of policy and program implementation services to
ensure the program provides state and local governments with
the tools and resources needed to increase our nation's preparedness,"
said Anita Kellogg, Vice President of ICF Consulting's emergency
management practice.
ICF Consulting is also assisting the Federal Emergency Management
Agency, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and U.S. Department
of Defense to fulfill their domestic preparedness missions and
responsibilities through technical assistance and program support.
Services for these agencies include WMD program design and implementation,
emergency operations, hazard and capability assessment, risk
management, training, and communications planning and outreach.
