ICF
Consulting to Provide Technical, Policy, and Logistical Support
for Environmental Innovations
WASHINGTON, DC, May
24, 2005 – The U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) awarded ICF Consulting a five-year contract, "Environmental
Innovations: Development and Transportation," for
the Office of Policy Economics and Innovation. The
contract is worth up to $6.5 million.
ICF Consulting
will provide a full range of support to EPA’s
Smart Growth Program, as EPA works with states and
localities to protect human health and the environment.
Smart growth development serves the community, the
environment, and the economy by integrating transportation,
building, and open space planning to support community
values, and improve community quality of life. |

Smart growth responds to
local conditions and values, and ICF Consulting’s team
of 14 specialized firms and institutions and four independent
consultants provides EPA with the necessary geographic and
substantive reach. Policy evaluations, emissions modeling,
and local planning and design assistance are among the areas
of work included in the contract.
"Healthy communities and ecosystems and a strong economy
depend on creating vibrant cities, towns, and neighborhoods,"
says Will Schroeer, ICF Consulting Vice President for Transportation
and Environmental Management. "ICF Consulting has
an extraordinary team of experts that helps communities
across the country grow in ways that protect their values.
This award builds on a deep history of smart growth work
we have done for EPA and its constituents, and we look
forward to broadening that work as smart growth addresses
new areas of concern, such as water quality and coastal
development," says
Schroeer.
