FAIRFAX,
VA, April 3, 2003 - ICF Consulting was named a finalist
today in the Best Corporate Web Site category for the first-ever
American Business AwardsSM.
Hailed as "the business world's own Oscars" by
the New York Post (September 22, 2002) and nicknamed
the Stevies for the Greek word "crowned,"
the American
Business Awards are the first national, all-encompassing
business awards program honoring great performances in the
workplace.
Almost 500 nominations from companies of all sizes and in
virtually every industry were submitted for consideration
in more than 40 categories. ICF Consulting was nominated in
the Best Corporate Web Site category, in which other finalists
include EDS (Electronic Data Systems), General Electric Co.,
and Hewlett-Packard. Nominations were rated by business professionals
nationwide during a five-week round of preliminary judging
in February and March, and their average scores determined
the finalists. Awards finalists were selected based on the
communications' objectives the company set for itself and
how well those goals were met. A complete
list of finalists is available on the awards Web site.
ICF Consulting relaunched its corporate Web site in September
2002 to coincide with a company-wide branding initiative.
As a leading management, technology, and policy consulting
firm, ICF Consulting wanted to emphasize the depth and breadth
of its work worldwide serving energy,
environment,
homeland
security, community
development, and transportation
markets for more than 30 years. Alliant
Studios, a communications design firm, worked closely
with the ICF Consulting Web content and technical managers
to redesign the look and feel.
"Our staff and design partner worked very hard to make
the ICF Consulting site's extensive content more accessible
and illustrative of the crosscutting expertise and analytics
ICF Consulting brings to its clients," said Sudhakar
Kesavan, Chairman and CEO of ICF Consulting. "I'm extremely
pleased that our site is recognized as one of the very best
by this distinguished national organization."
Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges &
Advisors and their staffs will select Stevie winners from
among the finalists. The Board includes business luminaries
such as Rich Karlgaard, publisher of Forbes; Bruce
Nelson, chairman and CEO of Office Depot; marketing gurus
Don Peppers and Martha Rogers; Anthony Robbins, Chairman and
CEO of The Anthony Robbins Companies; Drew Schutte, publisher
of Wired Magazine; Jeffrey Tarr, chairman and CEO of
Hoover's Inc.; and Donald Trump, chairman, president, and
CEO of The Trump Organization.
