Green Lights Lighting Upgrade
Training Workshops for the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency
ICF International has conducted over 100 Lighting
Upgrade Workshops, reaching over 5,000 facility
managers, utility representatives, lighting consultants,
contractors, and manufacturer representatives.
Agenda items include lighting technologies and
applications, lighting maintenance and disposal,
building surveys, and financial analysis. Key
issues such as lighting quality and profitability
are addressed in detail in the workshops. Attendees
receive training manuals and software designed
to calculate the costs and benefits of conducting
an upgrade project.
ENERGY STAR® Homes Sales
Training for the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA)
ICF International manages the customer service and
sales training program for EPA's ENERGY STAR® Homes
Program initiative—a voluntary pollution
prevention program that promotes the construction
of energy-efficient homes to homebuilders, home
buyers, energy efficiency organizations, utilities,
and home building materials suppliers. ICF International's
activities include technical support and account
management for assisting builders on how to best
move through the process of designing, testing,
and building ENERGY STAR® homes;
training builder sales agents on selling the
financial benefits of energy efficiency; and
communication methods for both consumers and
business marketing activities and overall program
management.
More Than 100 Workshops and
Seminars on Energy-Efficient Upgrades for the
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
For EPA's Atmospheric Pollution Prevention Division,
ICF International delivered over 80 Lighting Upgrade
Workshops nationwide to train a varied audience
to implement comprehensive lighting upgrades.
In addition, ICF International designed and facilitated
over 25 Implementation Roundtables and Partner
User Groups to provide heightened technical support
and problem-solving assistance to companies installing
energy-efficient lighting. ICF International delivered
six Quick-Start Workshops to provide companies
with a road map for implementation of upgrades.

Energy Investment Seminars
for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
ICF International managed the development and implementation
of a three-hour, executive-level seminar to educate
financial decision-makers on the cost-effectiveness
and other benefits of building energy upgrades.
The objective of these seminars was to persuade
executives that energy upgrades are profitable
and should be implemented. In addition, these
seminars were designed to educate the attendees
on the benefits of the ENERGY STAR® Buildings
Program and how their organization can join the
program. ICF International's responsibilities included
the development of the seminar objectives and
script, slide production, scheduling, publicity,
presenting the seminars, and evaluating the seminars.
During this project, ICF International conducted
ten seminars in major cities across the United
States.
Lighting Upgrade Manual
for the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA)
ICF International authored the Lighting Upgrade
Manual, a set of 11 individually-bound reference
documents providing guidance to Green Lights participants
in planning and implementing lighting upgrades.
Guidance is provided in lighting fundamentals,
technologies, maintenance, evaluations, and surveys.
