The award was presented to the National Youth in Transition Database (NYTD) Technical Assistance (TA) Work Group, which successfully implemented the NYTD reporting system by helping states creatively and strategically implement their new data collection and reporting requirements. This is the first national, longitudinal data collection effort focused on understanding the transitions of youth from state foster care to independent living as adults. The Assistant Secretary’s Honor Award recognizes the outstanding contributions of Administration for Children and Families (ACF) work groups and teams within ACF organizations in accomplishing a significant program or administrative activity that has advanced the achievement of their respective organization's goals, priorities, or mission.
