Carol Freeman

Vice President

Carol Freeman

Carol Freeman leads communication and social marketing projects that address many difficult communication challenges, such as injury prevention, environmental health issues, and disaster preparedness. Ms. Freeman provides clients with a broad array of audience research, social marketing, framing, risk communication, and partnership development. For more than nine years, she has provided project direction and expert consultation to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) to increase the effectiveness of communication initiatives and encourage the importance of injury and violence prevention and response.

Ms. Freeman has conducted audience research to identify barriers and motivators, including literature reviews, focus groups with the public, and in-depth interviews with partners and policymakers. Her recent work with NCIPC includes the development of communication planning tools tailored to the needs of different audiences and a coordinated communication platform to reframe how the public perceives injury; this project resulted in the publication: Adding Power to Our Voices, A Framing Guide for Communicating About Injury.
