Brad Hurley

Brad Hurley is a technical specialist with 22 years of experience as a writer, editor, webmaster, and project manager on climate change and other environmental topics. He manages a variety of communications-related projects, including website development and management, development and production of outreach materials, preparation of technical research reports and scientific journal articles, and general editorial and production management.

A former science journalist, Mr. Hurley has written, edited, or contributed to a number of high-profile reports and websites for U.S. and international agencies, including writing the chapter on stratospheric ozone depletion for the 25th anniversary report of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, editing a Congressionally mandated report on adaptation options for climate-sensitive ecosystems and resources, and writing content for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) climate change website. Since 1999, Mr. Hurley has served as editor of EPA’s America’s Children and the Environment series, a periodic report and website on trends in environmental factors affecting children’s health. EPA awarded a Gold Medal, its highest honor, to the second edition of America’s Children and the Environment, published in 2003. Mr. Hurley’s interests focus on climate change mitigation and adaptation, impacts of climate change on ecosystems and public health, and children’s environmental health.

Mr. Hurley has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science.
