Principal
George Matheson has more than 30 years of experience in energy, environment, climate change, and sustainable development. His areas of practice include development, delivery, and assessment of policies, strategies, and programs; design and delivery of stakeholder consultations; and management of complex consulting assignments, both domestically and internationally. He is an experienced corporate leader and project manager with experience managing multidisciplinary and complex assignments, and he is an experienced facilitator who has worked extensively with industry, government, and multistakeholder groups.
Mr. Matheson has served as project manager and/or lead consultant on a variety of projects in Canada, dealing with climate change impacts, adaptation, and mitigation. He also works in Africa and the Caribbean on climate change mitigation and adaptation policy, program, and project development. He is currently project co-director for the Building Nigeria’s National Response to Climate Change project, a multiyear project addressing climate change impacts and adaptation at the community, state, and national levels in Nigeria.
Mr. Matheson has a degree in Biology. He is an accomplished writer and the winner of several national awards for technical communication.
