Dr. Michael D. Smith, Ph.D., specializes in providing project management and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance review. He has managed Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for new Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) Standards Rulemakings.
He is an instructor for NEPA training courses offered through the Environmental Leadership Program at Duke University and cosponsored by the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ). He served a Science & Technology Policy Fellowship with the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology, an M.A. in Geography, and a B.A. in Environmental Studies.
ICF International will sponsor, exhibit, and present at the 37th Annual National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP) Conference in Portland, Oregon, May 21-24, 2012. This year's focus is Science, Politics, and Policy: Environmental Nexus.
ICF International's Michael Smith will be a presenter at the 14th annual Alaska Forum on the Environment (AFE), a statewide gathering of environmental professionals from government agencies, nonprofit and for-profit businesses, community leaders, Alaskan youth, conservationists, biologists, and community elders.
