Eddie is a statistics and data science expert with more than 20 years of experience in data and software engineering. He specializes in guiding data-rich projects from concept to delivery, working directly with clients to identify areas of need, developing custom solutions in an agile framework, and delivering clear and meaningful results.

As a data scientist, Eddie supports federal clients including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in various research areas by delivering full-stack DataOps solutions. He created an automated surveillance system for tracking nationwide school closures and leveraged generative artificial intelligence from a self-hosted large language model. Eddie also architected and engineered a natural language processing engine—which helps distill public health trends from raw social media data—and a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) platform, which reduced months of painstaking research to a fully automated natural language processing-based system.

Earlier in his career, Eddie worked as a data engineer for software development groups, creating business-critical big data pipelines in Databricks and search algorithms that integrate with patient Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources records.

Eddie develops other tailored processes to help clients, including integrated web scraping, automatic data pipelines, PDF analysis, and data cleansing. This data-driven application reduced months of manual scanning labor to a server-based process that completes in hours.

He also engineered and trained TensorFlow neural networks to read and analyze legal PDFs supporting a COVID-19 mitigation task force, eliminating a significant document backlog and saving months of time-sensitive manual research. And he created a custom “rapid review” machine learning algorithm that reduces the systematic review process from 16 months to less than two weeks.

Eddie has full-stack development experience in several data-mining and DataOps platforms, including Python, SQL, Docker, Snowflake, Apache Spark, React/JavaScript, and Tableau. He is also a certified Tensorflow Developer and a UiPath Certified Advanced RPA Developer.

Eddie earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Stetson University and a master’s degree in theology and ministry.
