FERC Sets the Agenda

Commissioner LaFleur to Speak

Energy and Environment Breakfast Series
Categorized Under: Energy, Environment

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has its finger on the pulse of many critical regulations affecting the power and gas sectors. The recently-released Order 1000 could fundamentally change transmission planning and development. FERC’s decisions on demand response and variable energy resources could affect the composition of new energy resources. FERC is actively considering new gas pipelines to accommodate new shale gas plays, and FERC’s oversight of North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) reliability requirements is designed to ensure the integrity of the grid at the same time as U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and state renewable requirements may force changes in power supply.

Please join us for a discussion of these issues, and ask your questions of FERC Commissioner Cheryl LaFleur as she describes how FERC’s agenda makes a difference for your firm and your clients.
