As part of the Ohio Employer Health Benefits Survey, ICF collected data from Ohio employers to understand insurance benefits from their perspectives. The Ohio Employer Health Benefits Survey, along with the Ohio Family Health Survey conducted by ICF, paint a comprehensive picture of health insurance coverage across Ohio. The Ohio Family Health Survey gathers data from residents about their insurance coverage, access to health care, and general health status.
ICF employed a multi-mode approach in contacting employers. Mail surveys and computer-assisted telephone interviewing were used to gather information from 2,300 businesses operating in the state. The topics included the types of insurance coverage offered to employees (or reasons for not offering insurance), the coverage expenses borne by employers, and how employers were preparing to meet new government regulations.
