Healthy Homes Training and Technical Assistance

Categorized Under: Community Development, Training + Technical Assistance

For more than 10 years, ICF has provided in-depth training and technical assistance to national, state, and local organizations to reduce health risks in housing, such as lead-based paint.

When the federal Lead Safe Housing Rule was issued, ICF developed a national training on this new regulation that addressed both its technical requirements and the actions needed at the state and local level to meet them. Drawing on our substantial in-house capability, ICF planned and conducted a national training effort of more than 55 training sessions reaching more than 3,200 practitioners. For HUD Office of Healthy Homes and Lead Hazard Control Grantees, ICF developed and implemented remote technical assistance tools to help hundreds of state and local grantees successfully implement their lead-based paint and healthy homes grant funding. Through technical assistance conference calls, Internet-based resource exchanges, program guides, and conferences, ICF connected grantees to best practices and accelerated the adoption of healthy homes intervention in states and communities.
