ICF International is part of the evaluation team conducting a multi-year, school-level, randomized controlled trial study and implementation study of Diplomas Now— a U.S. Department of Education-funded school improvement intervention that is aimed at ensuring students graduate from high school prepared for college success. The evaluation consists of a school-level randomized controlled trial designed to test the impact of Diplomas Now on attendance, in-school behavior, and course performance.
Approximately 80 middle and high schools from an estimated 10 school districts across the country are being randomly assigned to the Diplomas Now or non-Diplomas Now condition. We are developing and administering baseline surveys in years 2-4 of the 5-year study. Additionally, ICF is conducting post or end-of-year surveys each year with the same students. An estimated 20,000 student surveys will be administered. ICF’s involvement also includes conducting online principal and teacher surveys, and case studies in 10-12 schools. Annual reports will be provided to the schools to allow for timely feedback and corrections to implementation.
