Navy Child and Youth Program Task Force

Categorized Under: Education, Program Management + IT Management, Research + Evaluation, Surveys

ICF International operated a Child and Youth Program (CYP) Task Force for the Commander, Navy Installations Command. The Task Force identified space requirements and solutions among Child Development Centers, Child Development Homes, and School Age Care programs; assessed implementation of the established management standards at CY programs and the need for additional operating hours or 24/7 child care; and developed a description of youth programming. After a pilot test of data collection strategies in the Naval District Washington, the survey process was rolled out Navy wide. A professional online survey tool was used for seven unique user groups, and supporting documentation (e.g., floor plans) was collected from each installation. The data was summarized and reports were drafted for use by the CINC during onsite visits at each installation. Following each visit, ICF finalized the reports, which included a description of action items for each program and installation.
