In 2008, ICF International was selected to revise the Administrators’ Training Manual for the West Virginia Infant/Toddler (WVIT) Professional Development Program for Caregivers, reducing the training from 10 to 6 hours while retaining the integrity and meeting the objectives of the original Administrators’ training. Subsequently, ICF was chosen to design an additional 45 hours of training for caregivers (articulated for college credit) and 6 hours of training for administrators of Infant/Toddler programs.
ICF met with representative stakeholders across the state to get input on content and structure, and developed three modules based on providing reflective, responsive individualized care to infants and toddlers. The modules include 30 hours of class time and 15 hours of practicum. ICF also assisted WV Department of Health and Human Resources in development of articulation agreements with institutions of higher education in West Virginia.
