The Texas Education Agency Best Practices Clearinghouse (TEA BPC) supports schools in improving learning for all students by providing a means for schools to share information about evidence-based best practices. ICF supports this project by developing the framework and evidence standards for assessing best practices, leading webinars, analyzing data on targeted outcomes, and designing and hosting the website.
In recent years, a number of initiatives have been undertaken with the aim of helping educators cut through competing claims of program effectiveness and assess evidence to make informed decisions about which programs and strategies to replicate in order to improve student achievement. While these efforts have been successful in evaluating programs using high standards of research evidence, they have been less successful in providing practical guidance for educators to help them address everyday challenges on a given topic.
The Texas Education Association Best Practices Clearinghouse (TEA BPC) aims not only to summarize evidence, but to provide practical solutions to common challenges faced by schools across the state. The TEA BPC solicits and collects examples of best practices from districts and schools that have demonstrated significant improvement. The information provided through the TEA BPC is specific and actionable for schools, and includes best practices information concerning a wide variety of topic areas.
As a subcontractor to Resources for Learning, LLC (RFL), ICF is responsible for developing the framework and evidence standards for assessing best practices, leading webinars, analyzing data on targeted outcomes, and designing and hosting the TEA BPC website.
