2010 Master Facilities Plan EIR/EIS

Categorized Under: Environment

ICF managed a program Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and tiered Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the 428 mgd joint outfall system master plan for the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County’s Master Facilities Plan.

Major environmental issues that were addressed included San Gabriel River and marine water quality; air quality risk assessments and odors from operations, traffic, air quality, and noise construction impacts; air quality impacts from shipping biosolids (via rail and trucking) to landfills and other facilities throughout California; and land use conflicts associated with sanitation district operations and nearby residential and business uses. The program EIR was the recipient of the Outstanding Environmental Analysis Document award from the Association of Environmental Professionals for its innovative approach and readability.
