Since 2008, ICF has assisted in the preparation of a joint Environmental Impact Report (EIR)/Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the development of the 815-acre Merced campus of the University of California (UC Merced) and the adjacent 1,951-acre University Community.
The project consists of the development of a major research university in Merced County that would support up to 25,000 full-time equivalent students with a contiguous associated community needed to support the university. ICF provided the environmental analyses for biological resources, cultural resources, geology and soils, hydrology and water quality, and noise impacts for the EIS/EIR.
Since the University of California Regents certified the EIS/EIR on March 19, 2009, ICF has continued to provide services to UC Merced including, but not limited to, preparation of a construction mitigation plan, conducting biological surveys, and supporting the Section 106 consultation process. Under separate contract directly with UC Merced, we have been providing environmental and permitting services for the project since 2005.
