Environmental Impact Statement for the Deregulation of Glyphosate-Tolerant Alfalfa

Categorized Under: Environment

ICF prepared the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the petition to deregulate glyphosate-tolerant alfalfa.

In addition to preparing the EIS, ICF developed 12 technical reports to support the EIS on topics ranging from the risk of genetic contamination of conventional and organic alfalfa, to the economic, social, and trade impacts of a contamination event.  During the preparation of the EIS, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned a lower court ruling banning planting of glyphosate-tolerant alfalfa but did not reinstate the approval of the crop, so no new seeds could be planted.
