Santa Clara Valley Habitat Conservation Plan and Natural Community Conservation Plan

Categorized Under: Environment, Strategic Communications + Marketing

ICF is working with the County of Santa Clara; the Cities of San Jose, Gilroy, and Morgan Hill; the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority; and the Santa Clara Valley Water District to prepare the Santa Clara Valley Habitat Conservation Plan/Natural Community Conservation Plan.

ICF developed and manages an extensive public outreach and education program, using innovative tools to involve the diverse population of Santa Clara County. ICF created a brand for the program to increase community awareness and generate support for building a conservation legacy. The outreach program includes a project website, well-attended community meetings, a successful speaker’s bureau, informative newsletters, fact sheets and educational materials, species trading cards, media tours, and special events. ICF also facilitated a Communications Working Group of Public Information Officers from the six local agencies.
