Wetlands Services and Values Literature Review

Categorized Under: Environment

To support wetlands in water quality trading, ICF assisted EPA in the classification of wetland goods and services and in the review of literature on how these services have been valued throughout the United States.

The economic valuation literature review included a review of corresponding valuing mechanisms and key factors that can affect the valuation of one service in different locations. The second element of the literature review focused on literature documenting the types of wetlands that reduce nutrient and sediment discharge into water and the additional services they offer. Key factors that affect water quality functions and other services provided by wetlands with high-water-quality functions were synthesized with pricing information.
