ICF International, along with our partner, the National Dropout Prevention Center/Network (NCPC/N), was selected by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to conduct an evaluation of best practices in dropout prevention programs.
ICF was charged with identifying promising practices both nationally and in the state of Texas that meet the specific needs of Texas youth and have a high potential for statewide success. ICF’s approach to this study included both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Building upon our work for the What Works Clearinghouse, ICF developed standards tailored to the needs of both TEA and the state of Texas and identified both the quality and magnitude of findings presented by dropout study authors and practitioners.
