YouthBuild Technical Assistance Support

Categorized Under: Families + Communities, Training + Technical Assistance

ICF International provided on-site technical assistance support to the DOL YouthBuild program, which is designed to provide leadership development, construction skills training, academic certificate/degree attainment, and other support to at-risk youth.

The objective of the YouthBuild program is to move at-risk and out-of-school youth to full time, sustainable employment. ICF also provided subject matter expertise as it relates to workforce development, green workforce development, and organizational capacity. In 2009, as a technical assistance strategy, ICF developed and hosted the first DOL Community of Practice – the YouthBuild Community of Practice (CoP) for DOL and U.S. Housing and Urban Development YouthBuild grantees. The password-protected CoP allows grantees to share resources, lessons learned, and strategies, and is viewed as a model for other CoPs that have since been developed by ETA.
