Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP) Off-Site Exercise and Program

The REP Program's mission is to enhance federal, state, and local governments, and the private sector's ability to plan, prepare, and respond to all types of peacetime radiological emergencies, and to ensure that adequate offsite emergency plans and preparedness are in place and can be implemented by state and local governments to protect the health and safety of the public living in the vicinity of commercial nuclear power plants.

ICF has assisted the REP program with management and administration of it responsibilities for nearly 10 years. ICF has assisted the client with:

  • Reviewing and evaluating offsite radiological emergency response
  • Evaluating exercises conducted by state and local governments
  • Making findings and determinations on the adequacy of state and local emergency planning and preparedness
  • Providing a Web-based information system, to provide a means to effectively collect, store, and disseminate information, including a Web-based Work Order Tracking System
  • Providing access to and contract administration of more than 130 technically qualified evaluators and subject matter experts
  • Converting monthly budget and expenditure data into standard Internet-ready formats
  • Delivering training to federal, state, and local emergency response and preparedness personnel
  • Developing PowerPoint presentations and other graphical presentations for REP Exercises
  • Compiling, formatting, and finalizing REP Exercise Draft and Final Reports
