Building Nigeria’s National Response to Climate Change (BNRCC)

Categorized Under: Climate, International Development

With Cuso International, ICF is the executing agency for a multiyear $4.7 million climate change adaptation project in Nigeria. The project is building informed responses to climate change in Nigeria by enhancing adaptation capacity at the community, state, and national levels with strong linkages to poverty reduction and natural resources management.

Key project components include a research program on climate change impacts and adaptation, a series of adaptation pilot projects in communities country-wide, development and mainstreaming of a national and state level climate change adaptation strategy, and communications and outreach initiatives. At all stages of the project, ICF and Cuso International have worked closely with the Nigeria Environmental Study/Action Team, our local project partner, and with stakeholders in government and civil society.
