ICF supports the design, implementation, and rollout of the U.S. Social Security Administration’s (SSA) HSPD-12 program. Since 2004, ICF has supported SSA's effort to design a credential enrollment and issuance system that could be widely deployed. This effort led to an economical solution used at SSA's 1,600 sites nationwide.
Using this broad-based architecture, ICF facilitated SSA's issuance of approximately 85,000 HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credentials. As SSA turns toward integration and exploitation of these cards, ICF actively supports the agency's efforts to secure its workplaces and information systems. In this role, the ICF team provides a wide range of technical expertise in physical access control systems and logical access to SSA's IT infrastructure.
