ICF supports the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with its deployment of the EPA Personnel Access and Security System (EPASS), one of the most successful PIV card issuance programs of any federal entity. More than 20,000 employees and contractors have been issued HSPD-12 compliant credentials at more than 100 EPA sites nationwide.
ICF’s program management and technical expertise has helped the EPA meet its aggressive schedule for agency-wide issuance. ICF conducted analysis and recommended improvement processes for identity proofing, enrollment, card production, and card lifecycle management. These recommendations enable the EPA to greatly expand the number of card issuance sites while maintaining a cost-effective and technologically current program and enhance the efficiency of the business processes associated with EPA identity management. With ICF's assistance, EPA is now exploiting the attributes of Personal Identity Verification (PIV) by integrating the EPASS card with physical and logical access systems.
