ICF International implements the MEASURE DHS project, which has provided technical assistance to more than 300 surveys in over 90 countries. MEASURE DHS has earned a worldwide reputation for collecting and disseminating accurate, nationally representative data on fertility, family planning, maternal and child health, gender, HIV/AIDS, malaria, and nutrition.

MEASURE DHS provides capacity building to host-country implementing agencies through all survey stages, including survey design and sampling, training, field work, data tabulation and analysis, report writing, and dissemination and use of findings. MEASURE DHS implements multiple surveys, including:

  • Demographic and Health Survey
  • AIDS Indicator Survey
  • Malaria Indicator Survey
  • Service Provision Assessment Survey 

Surveys usually include GPS data collection and use of biomarkers to measure objective health conditions such as anemia, height/weight, and HIV prevalence.

The MEASURE DHS website provides free resources, including all survey reports, further analysis publications, methodological information, and access to data visualization tools such as the STATcompiler.
