As a follow-up to the previously created
desk guide for policy planners, ICF was asked by Caltrans to create a
Community Primer on Environmental Justice & Transportation Planning to explain the planning process and policies related to environmental justice and transportation planning in an easy-to-read format.
The resulting educational document is intended for use by community-based organizations and traditionally underrepresented communities and populations. The primer acts as a roadmap that informs community members of their rights and responsibilities in providing input into state and local transportation planning and projects.
