Wyoming Wind Collector and Integration Study - Final Report

Categorized Under: Energy

ICF International conducted the Wyoming Wind Collector and Integration study under contract with the Wyoming State Energy Office (SEO) in coordination with the Wyoming Infrastructure Authority (www.wyia.org). ICF International (ICF) previously analyzed a wind collector system in Wyoming. In this previous study, which is referred to as Phase 1, ICF developed a conceptual design for a wind collector system capable of connecting up to 12 gigawatts (GW) of power from potential wind farms in Wyoming to six proposed transmission export lines.

A logical follow-on to the conceptual design of a collector system capable of connecting up to 12 GW of wind energy to proposed high voltage transmission export lines in a state with substantial natural gas production is to examine location and financing aspects of the collector system and options for integrating the wind and natural gas resources of Wyoming.
