The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) recently issued joint guidance on the environmental review process required by Section 6002 of the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users, commonly referred to as 'SAFETEA-LU'.
