An Argument for Instructional Fusion

Categorized Under: Training + Technical Assistance

When implementing a "blended learning" strategy, modern instructional design often keeps the e-Learning portion separate from the traditional classroom instruction, undermining the complementary benefits from each component. ICF International makes the case that when "blending" e-Learning with instructor-led training (ILT), the best learning occurs when both are employed within the classroom at the same time. Using a case study, this paper explores how rapid e-Learning development helped boost the effectiveness of classroom training for a client experiencing significant turnover, aggressive hiring, and the need to train novices in a high-stress, jargon-heavy computerized process.
