U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Levee Vegetation Policy Continues to Elicit Response

This article describes the levee vegetation policy of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, current understanding of the effect of vegetation on levees, California's response to the need for additional research, and the 2009 flood system improvement framework. Important strategies for complying with vegetation policy and guidance include life‐cycle management, phased implementation, and concurrently planned improvement projects.
