How Self-Service BI Tools Improve Decision Making

Categorized Under: IT Solutions

In this white paper, ICF International's Deep Sogani and Sean Woehrle explore some of the challenges faced by executives when choosing a self-service business intelligence (BI) solution and provide tips for successful integration into an existing data management landscape.

For large organizations, getting actionable data into the hands of business users can be an expensive waiting game. Self-service BI tools may relieve some of the pressure on IT departments to reduce costs to improve productivity by delivering insight directly to the managers who need it. However, self-service BI tools should not be considered a magic bullet, and it's important to understand the limitations. For companies already using Excel and SharePoint, Microsoft's SQL Server 2012 and its integrated BI tools may offer the most seamless, cost-effective, and self-service solution for managing data.
