The ICF Early Education Institute™ is pleased to
present a free Webinar series discussing hot topics and issues in the field of early care and education.

ICF International is pleased to present a webinar on leadership development in early care and education. ICF recognizes that this is an important time for early care and education and that the development of leaders is critical for the future of our field. Now is the time for thoughtful planning and discussions to occur around leadership development. Our expert panelists will focus on the current landscape; leadership development strategies; initiatives occurring at the local, state, and national level; and leadership development around the world.

Helen Stine (Introduction)
Senior Vice President, ICF International

Helen StineHelen Stine oversees Early Education Services at ICF International and has more than 25 years of experience, specializing in program training and technical assistance, program and system assessments and analysis, strategic planning, and program management. She oversees ICF's work with the Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Head Start and the Child Care Bureau, as well as a number of military, state, local, and international projects.

 

Stacie G. Goffin
Stacie GoffinPrincipal, Goffin Strategy Group

Stacie Goffin will discuss leadership development in early childhood care and education (ECE) and provide a view of the current landscape. The backdrop for ECE has changed dramatically over the last several decades. The ECE field is at a crossroads, and this defining moment calls for leadership. This presentation outlines the field's current response to these challenges from the perspective of leadership development.

 

Susan Perry-Manning
Executive Deputy Director, NACCRRA

Susan Perry-ManningSusan Perry-Manning (National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies) will discuss leadership development strategies in the child care resource and referral (CCR&R) field. Specifically, she will describe NACCRRA’s Leadership Development Program, which provides selected applicants with a three-year program that includes intensive mentoring, training, and internship experiences in CCR&R. The purpose of the program is to develop groups of leaders who will help shape the future of CCR&R and child care at the local, state, and national level.

 

Eliza NesmithEliza G. Nesmith
Chief, Airman and Family Services, U.S. Air Force

Eliza Nesmith will discuss leadership development in Air Force child development programs. She will present an overview of leadership opportunities in a large, high quality system of child care serving children in center and home-based programs, birth through 12 years, on worldwide military bases.

 

Barbara McCreedy
Barbara McCreedyICF International

Barbara McCreedy will discuss the role and initiatives of ICF in the field of leadership development. She will present an overview of a new leadership series being launched for Directors of Early Childhood Programs in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.

 

Roger Neugebauer (Closing)
Roger NeugebauerFounder, World Forum Foundation
Publisher, Exchange Press Inc.

Roger Neugebauer (Child Care Exchange) will discuss the need to recruit and prepare the next generation of leaders of the early childhood community—the next wave of children's champions. A variety of international nongovernmental organizations are taking different routes to accomplishing this—distance education, side by side mentoring, train the trainers, and various fellowship programs.
