Brownfields are at the nexus of ICF’s core commitments to community development and environmental quality. Our goal is to help identify opportunities, organize the process, and package the resources needed to address brownfield site issues and achieve reuse.
ICF International’s Charlie Bartsch was instrumental in the evolution of the brownfields issue. From its inception in the early 1990s through its maturity today, Charlie has helped states, communities, and other public and private stakeholders advance reuse approaches and explore new strategies for site recovery. Since joining ICF, Charlie has continued to serve as a tireless advocate for brownfield revitalization and has conducted workshops and trainings in more than 40 states and nearly 300 communities.
