ICF International Awarded $34 Million Contract by Department of Health and Human Services to Support the Office of Head Start
ICF Wins One Contract to Serve Two Regions in Head Start Program
Fairfax, Virginia, October 24, 2011 -
ICF International (NASDAQ:ICFI), a leading provider of consulting services and technology solutions to government and commercial clients, has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, Office of Head Start (OHS) to support one new region and one re-compete region of the Head Start program. The contract has a value of $34.3 million and a term of six base months and four option years.
Under the contract, ICF will provide training and technical consulting assistance, conference facilitation and collaboration, and program management services to grantees in nationwide regions XI (American Indian and Alaska Native programs) and XII (Migrant and Seasonal programs). ICF’s efforts will support the Head Start goals of enhancing the quality of services that children and families receive in order to improve outcomes for children as they prepare to enter school.
“It is especially gratifying to have been awarded these two regions to support OHS and Head Start grantees. We are pleased to have the OHS’s trust in carrying out this important work. These wins further expand ICF’s role working with at-risk children and families, also allowing us to specifically work with the American Indian/Alaska Native and the migrant/seasonal communities throughout the United States,” said Maureen Murphy, senior vice president for ICF International. “Through our work in six Head Start regions, ICF will run the gamut of large inner city grantees to remote rural programs. This provides us the opportunity to expand our already robust skills and understanding of the program’s constituents and ensures that we are providing best practices wherever we work with Head Start grantees.”
