ICF International Wins 2011 Outstanding Contractor Award

Recognized for Supporting Program and Initiative Helping Low-Income Individuals

Fairfax, Virginia, May 9, 2012 -

ICF International, a leading provider of consulting services and technology solutions to government and commercial clients, has received the 2011 Outstanding Contractor Award from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Administration for Children and Families (ACF) for exceptional support of the Assets for Independence (AFI) program and the ASSET Initiative.

In nominating ICF, ACF highlights the specialized national and regional support the company provides to AFI—a program that helps low-income individuals and families save money and gain economic self-sufficiency, and the ASSET Initiative—an interagency and regionally-based effort to connect more families to asset building services. Asset building has been found to be an exceptional tool to move families from poverty to self-sufficiency. AFI promotes individual savings accounts to purchase a home, start a business, or go back to school. It is run by nonprofit and governmental agencies that support the families by promoting financial literacy and providing household self-sufficiency support to those families in the program.

“ICF is honored to accept this important award from HHS and ACF for our support to the AFI program and ASSET Initiative and their efforts in helping low-income individuals and families,” said Carole Norris, vice president for ICF International. “This program is critical in these times of economic difficulties. We are committed to continued support for this valuable program that provides the funds that allow families to save money to support their dreams.”

ICF supports AFI by providing services to ACF and its grantees. The company also provides overall grant management services, training events for potential applicants and grantees, a resource center for grantee support including a revamped website and help desk, information management systems, and coordination and training of regional AFI experts.
