ICF Consulting Awarded $1.4 Million
Health and Human Services Contract
to Support HIV/AIDS Policy

ICF Consulting to Provide Social Marketing, Technical Assistance for The Leadership Campaign on AIDS

Fairfax, VA, May 3, 2005 – ICF Consulting was awarded a $1.4 million contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to support The Leadership Campaign on AIDS (TLCA) for the Office of HIV/AIDS Policy (OHAP). The HHS program is a social marketing effort aimed at educating, motivating, and mobilizing leaders in minority communities in America to get involved in HIV/AIDS awareness programs. ICF Consulting will lead efforts in the areas of communication and social marketing, graphic design, training, technical assistance, and evaluation.

"The Leadership Campaign on AIDS reinvigorates the fight against HIV/AIDS at the community level where the epidemic’s impact is definitely felt the strongest," says Tony Silva, ICF Consulting Vice President. "We are so pleased to be able to bring our social marketing and technical assistance expertise to this effort. The disproportionate impact of this disease on communities of color underscores the importance of this engagement," says Mr. Silva.

The campaign forges innovative partnerships with civic, faith, and public health leaders to help address HIV/AIDS affecting primarily African Americans, Latinos, Asian/Pacific Islanders, and Native Americans. It also aims to educate federal employees about the HIV/AIDS epidemic by offering educational events tied to six national HIV/AIDS Awareness Days and by supporting the department's Web site dedicated to providing information on those observances. "From the beginning, OHAP/TLCA has pursued an innovative outreach strategy," says Miguel Gomez, Director of The Leadership Campaign on AIDS. "We are pleased to receive ICF Consulting’s social marketing, technical assistance, and evaluation expertise in our corner in this fight."
